We did something a little outside of the norm this weekend and had so much fun that there’s a good chance we just might do it again! Well, that’s not entirely true as Meghan has been doing this kind of thing for almost 20 years…. although she’s used to planning events for Heads of State and the like in DC, I’d say the festivities to celebrate a very special 8 year old was just as impressive! Keep on reading for all of the fun details and at the very end we will be sharing all of the FREE printables that we created that you can use for your own Halloween fun!
The Decor
It’s no surprise that we would start here because honestly the decor was just so much fun and it totally set the stage for everything else! Since Sweet A’s birthday is the week before Halloween and she wanted her friends to come in costume we knew that it would be heavy on the Halloween (aka. orange and black) but we wanted to girlie it up by adding in lots of pink which turned out adorable! Cue the balloon arch, a table fit for a princess, and so much more!!

The Games & Crafts
No birthday party is complete without all the fun games and we made sure to have lots to keep the kiddos entertained. I think the It’s a Wrap Mummy game definitely the favorite! The girls has so much much fun trying to wrap their partner with toilet paper like a mummy. We also had custom Feel boxes where the girls guessed which box contained Tarantula legs, Monster Eyeballs, Mummies Toes, & Frankenstein Ears. Ewwww… they felt so gross!!! We also included a Pumpkin Putt Putt, Spooky Spider craft, and closed with individual cupcake decorating! The winners scored light up pumpkin or candy corn necklaces or sunglasses. Because our theme & colors were so fun, we had to go all out with the printed pieces too so we custom created these just for the birthday girl! Click here to get on our e-mail list and we will be sharing these files for FREE!

The Food
Our food selections began with the birthday girl’s faves of fried shrimp and popcorn chicken with a side of Pirates Booty! But the fun really came in with the drinks and desserts. The girls (and the adults too!) loved the Orange Eyeball Punch garnished with an edible gummy eyeball and a pink & white striped straw. An our local baker provided the perfect sweets in the way of Monster Rice Crispy Treats and Chocolate Dipped Pretzels all in the perfect shades of pink, orange, black, and white!

The Goodie Bags
No tricks, just treats at this party and the goodie bags delivered as well! The pink Boo bags were adorable and perfectly complemented our cute but scary theme. We filled them with custom water bottles labeled with each girls name loaded with sweet treats & Halloween hair ties. We also came prepared with treat bags so the girls could bring home their rice crispies and pretzels!

PS. A little afterthought…
As the party was coming to a close, Meghan and I had hands full with Halloween decor and I couldn’t help but smile. Just two years before we had been in our kiddo’s classroom as new friends and room moms helping them decorate pumpkins and celebrate Halloween (after we spent about 20 minutes outside in the sweltering Florida heat thanks to a fire drill!) Now here we stand as friends and business partners on this amazing journey to bring peace and order to others lives. Talk about a full circle moment to see how much has changed and just how thankful we both are to be here!
